What Is Experiential Learning?
Experiential Learning is the process of discovery through experience; it’s the most natural form of learning.
The Teamscapes methodology is unique in it’s simplicity. Based on Kolb’s Experiential Learning Cycle which suggests that effective learning is seen when a person progresses through a cycle of four active stages;Participants will progress through the day on a continuous upwards spiral of learning.
Through experiential learning, our activities provide an excellent medium for learning on a level playing field, irrespective of individuals’ career level, age or ability.
After a group takes part in an activity, the facilitator will then give them the opportunity to reflect on their performance during that task and consider how they might improve in order to tackle the next activity more effectively.
Carrying out a second activity, putting into practice what the team have learnt during the first one, demonstrates how they have all learnt individually how they can successfully contribute to a more efficient team. In true experiential learning style, the second activity consolidates the observations from the previous one, providing an opportunity to practice the learning.
These skills that they are learning and implementing during this process transfer straight back to the working environment and include:
- Creating an environment for honest discussion
- Experiencing the power of reflection
- Developing the ability to discuss openly areas for improvement
- Having the opportunity to consider and hone personal performance
- Recognising the value of effective communication
- Setting clear objectives
Tailoring Your Team Building With Psychometrics
We work hand in hand with many of the Psychometric profiling models, bringing to life the theory through learning and reflecting in line with that particular model.
Your facilitator will be handpicked to ensure the right expertise and the language of the model will be incorporated through the experiential learning journey.
Our accredited facilitators are practitioners in a range of profiling models including:
- Enneagram System
- Discovery Insights
- Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)
- Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)
- Strength Deployment Inventory (SDI)
- Luminar Learning
